Advanced Techniques: Color correction preview

monk

Yep, it's in B&W, that's why it's only a preview for the color correction assignment. I have other stuff in color that I'll turn in, but I was feeling this one without color. The image is from the closing ceremony of the Tibetan monks that came to campus for a week. More on the event once I post more.

For dear ol' dad

Seeing red

Seeing red

If I remember correctly, last time I was home he said that the reds were his favorite fall color. So, if I'm right, hope you enjoy these.

A few more from the rodeo

A few more shots from the bull riding competition I went to in Forsyth, MO. This is a slideshow, but some have had problems seeing the buttons. You can also just click the picture to advance to the next one.

Advanced Techniques: Ninja

ninja

Our most recent assignment for Advanced Techniques was to light metal or glass. I chose metal. This shoot was really cool for me because I had been conceptualizing what photograph I wanted for several weeks before the shoot. I drew up possible lighting diagrams and ideas so I could be sure to pull it off. In the end, it turned out almost identical to the image I first had in my mind, which is a really exciting thing. A huge amount of gratitude to photographer Jakob Berr for coming to my rescue. I lost my model on the day of the shoot and I asked him to go to the studio with me from 9-11 p.m. to be a ninja. Though he was sick, he agreed and let us splash fake blood all over him. A thousand thanks Jakob, couldn't have done it without you!

Looking at lines at the museum

Still sifting through my MPW outtakes to see what I'd like to put up. In the meantime, here are a few recent shots from the St. Louis Art Museum.

Dad's Place: MPW Final Edit

Here is my final edit for my story I did down at the Missouri Photo Workshop. It was an unbelievably difficult experience, but one that I'll be learning from for many years. I'll be posting outtakes and other photos over the next few days. Thanks to everyone who made it such a wonderful time. If you want to read about my story click HERE
